A group of  ex-miners from Littleton have got together and started a project to place a marker over the No.2 upcast shaft of Littleton Colliery, Huntington, Cannock, Staffordshire. The group all worked at the colliery and are a mixed bag of facemen, headers, electrician, mechanics and general underground  and surface workers. They estimate that the stone marker will cost in the region of 10,000.00 which they are hoping to raise by various means within the next 12 months. The have produced many different items that are for sale such as mugs, "T" shirts, enamel badges, a 2018 calendar and a music cd. They are holding a Miners Christmas nigh on the Friday 22nd December at the Littleton Arms all are welcome so please come along and support them they are going to need all the help and donations you can give them. Their HQ is The Littleton Arms (Coggers)

Hi guys

as we are all aware, 2018 marks 25 years since the closure of the Littleton Colliery site.

We in the shaft marker team are proposing to mint a coin to mark this occasion.

We have not finalised the design as yet but it will be an entirely new design on the obverse side (front) this has been designed by an ex Littleton guy Chris Colbourne.
We hope to make the coin double sided with the Littleton Crest on the reverse (back) side. {see picture below}.

The coin will be silver and come in a black presentation box, we are unsure of its cost as yet but we estimate that it will to be in the region of 25 per coin.

As you can all appreciate we are having to have special dies made to create this design and mint the coin. Remember it will be a unique one off coin and a great keepsake to pass on in the future.
However Before we give it the go ahead we need to see a positive interest from everyone concerned so that we can make this idea a reality.

If anyone would definitely like one then please contact the team stating the number of coins you will require.

Thank you all for your continued support we really do appreciate it.

Thank You from The Littleton Shaft Marker Committee.
